This is a blown in material that creates an air barrier and insulates by filling in any cracks and crevices when it is applied. Unlike blown in insulation Spray Foam will never lose it shape over time and therefore always keep it's R-Value. Unlike blown insulation which will settle and compress losing it's R-Value.
Open Cell and Closed Cell Insulation both have their own benefits and Differences
1. Open Cell is cheaper than Closed Cell.
2. Open Cell is more commonly used in residential applications because of it's expansion properties. Closed Cell is more commonly used in areas where there is little room for application such as Conex, Metal Buildings, and Commercial Projects.
3. Both create an air barrier when they are applied and both have sound dampening qualities.
4. Closed Cell does not expand and this gives it a higher R-Value per Square Inch.
Absolutely. Spray Foam can help lower cost by at least 10% and in some cases up to 25%.
